FROM MY WORLD

3 Days, 1 Page, and Zero Apologies

How do you really become a bestselling author on Amazon?

Here’s the truth: it’s not about luck or big publishing deals. It’s about knowing how to leverage the power of a loyal audience and applying pressure with smart, unapologetic strategy.

Let’s rewind a bit.

I had a list of about 2,000 subscribers—my people, my loyal buyers. And for three days, I turned up the heat and made them an offer they couldn’t resist: buy my book, and I’ll load you up with some killer bonuses.

It wasn’t subtle. It wasn’t fancy. But it worked like a charm.

Here’s the exact playbook I used:

  1. A Simple Landing Page: This was bare-bones, just a clean white background with a big, loud headline. It basically said, "Buy My Book and Get All These Bonuses for Free." I kept the options easy—grab the Kindle, the physical book, or both (with more bonuses the further up you went). The biggest prize? A full year of access to my paid mastermind—a package worth over $1,000. Simple, bold, and designed to make people click.

  2. Daily Emails (Unapologetically Direct): I didn’t just whisper this offer; I hammered it home. Every day, for three days, I sent an email to that same list. Each email reminded them of the deadline, nudging them to get the book before time ran out. Did it feel a bit intense? Maybe. Did it work? Oh, absolutely.

  3. Proof of Purchase = Proof of Reward: Anyone who wanted the bonuses just had to forward their purchase receipt to my support team. It was easy, and we made sure they got what they came for.

Here’s the cherry on top: that same week, Gary Vee was dropping a new book too.

Now, was it his biggest launch ever? No, it wasn’t. But the fact that my book beat his on the charts made one thing clear—I now had “Amazon Bestselling Author” next to my name.

This title isn’t just an ego boost. It’s a serious credibility marker. It opens doors, builds trust, and gives clients a reason to take your advice seriously.

Imagine how much easier it becomes to help people when they see you as an authority. In their minds, if you’re an Amazon Bestseller, you must know something they don’t. And that’s priceless.

So, if you’ve got a list—even if it’s only 1,000-2,000 people—you’ve got a potential bestseller launch team in your hands. Whether it’s a book, a podcast, a product—you can use this same approach and get massive traction.

I used the same strategy when I launched my podcast. Within a week, I had dozens of reviews, and my show shot up to the “New and Noteworthy” list, where it stayed for two months.

So don’t wait around for luck. Take charge, use your list, and launch like you mean it. Because with a loyal audience, you’ve got everything you need.

MINDSET MAKEOVER

You Learn More by Doing Than by Reading

Once upon a time, I was the type who devoured books as if they held all the secrets of the universe. But here’s what I eventually realized: you learn more by doing than by reading. The words on the page are powerful, sure, but if they never turn into actions, then they’re just... words.

These days, my relationship with reading has changed.

Gone are the hours of disciplined, morning book sessions. Now, reading is something I do on the fly, in what I like to call “dead time.”

Sitting at the playground while my son goes down the slide for the hundredth time? That’s prime reading time. Waiting in line somewhere? I’ll pull up a Kindle app on my phone. But structured reading time? Forget about it. I save those precious hours for working on things that move the needle in my business.

And here’s the kicker: I rarely finish a book. In fact, out of the last 20 books I started, I fully read maybe two of them. The rest? I skim for the good stuff, grab the main idea, and then go test it out in the real world.

The same goes for books I don’t feel ready for. I’ll buy a book if someone I admire recommends it, but it might sit on my shelf for months. If the concept really matters, it'll make its way back to me.

My approach to reading may sound sacrilegious, but it’s what works

I focus on immediate application. If a book offers one idea that clicks, I’ll set the book down and try it out. If I need more, I’ll come back. Sometimes, I don’t even crack the book open until I’ve watched a summary on YouTube or skimmed a few reviews. If the summary sounds like it’s got gold, I’ll dig in.

Here’s a little reality check for you: the old me would’ve been reading five books at a time, searching for that one idea that could change my life.

Today, I know that the magic only happens when I actually do something with what I learn. Books are great, but they’re like maps—you’ll never reach the destination if you just keep looking at them.

So, if you’re like the old me, endlessly searching for the next “perfect” book or reading ten things at once, maybe it’s time to take a breather.

Focus on the action instead of the accumulation. Because trust me, the biggest breakthroughs don’t come from what you read. They come from what you do with what you’ve read.
