FROM MY WORLD
The Poverty Trap
What really gets me up and keeps me going every day? It's not a sexy answer, but it's the truth.
Growing up, my family struggled immensely, especially after my dad's near heart attack. It left him unable to work but not sick enough for disability.
We lived off handouts, sinking deeper into debt. This experience of poverty left a lasting mark on me.
I remember what it's like to be poor, doing menial jobs like scrubbing trays at Burger King and cleaning hotel rooms.
It sucked, and I never want to experience that again.
What wakes me up in the morning is the sheer fear of poverty. This fear keeps me driven, regardless of my bank balance. I wake up every day as if I were broke.
Fear can be a powerful motivator.
It has pushed me to work hard and live below my means. However, I worry about the impact this fear-based drive has on my health and the mentality it may pass on to my children.
They don't understand my scarcity mindset and approach to money, as they are growing up in a much more secure environment.
Despite its drawbacks, fear has made me keep trying hard to be successful.
Yet, I hope to eventually shift my motivation to something more positive. Until then, I’ll continue to let fear drive me, trying my best to make sure that neither I nor my loved ones ever have to experience poverty again.

LESSONS FROM LEGENDS
50% More Opens, 35% More Sales, 100% More Effective Emails
Ryan Deiss, that digital marketing guru at DigitalMarketer, did something pretty cool this year. He shook up the world of email marketing with his "hyper-personalization" strategy.
Hyper-personalization? It's like knowing your audience so well, you can send them emails that feel like they were written just for them. Forget about just knowing their age or location. Deiss dug deeper, figuring out what they like and how they act online.
So, how'd he do it? Imagine a detective following digital footprints. Deiss used fancy tools to track what users looked at and clicked on. If you were eyeing those cool running shoes online, guess what? Your email might just have a special offer for them. It's like magic, but with data.
Did it work? Oh boy, did it! Businesses using Deiss' tricks saw their emails get opened more, clicked on more, and most importantly, they sold more stuff. It's like the emails were speaking the customer's language.
One story really stands out. Deiss talked about a company that saw way more people opening their emails (50% more!) and buying things (35% more!) after trying his hyper-personalization methods. That's a lot of happy customers and cha-ching for the business.
The big lesson here? Don't just send boring emails to everyone. Get to know your audience and give them what they want. It's like giving them a gift they actually like, instead of that ugly sweater you got last year. Your customers will thank you, and so will your sales figures.
MINDSET MAKEOVER
It's Different for Everyone
Success isn't about money. I know, it sounds strange coming from a guy who’s focused on making money for so many years, lives in a big house, and drives a Porsche.
But over the years, my definition of success has changed.
When I started out, success was purely about money and status. If I made more than the next guy, I felt successful. Growing up in Ukraine in the '90s, success seemed tied to money and status. Successful people drove expensive cars and often hung around criminals. Back then, having money meant dealing with the mafia demanding a cut for "protection." That was my skewed idea of success.
Over time, I realized that true success means living a life by your own design, not being hostage to some societal idea.
Take, for example, a high-paying job at a prestigious company. It sounds successful, but if you hate your job, boss, and commute, you’re not truly successful. On the other hand, someone living a simple life, waking up content every day, is successful in my book.
My wife always wanted a family, and to her, that was success. But after moving to Canada, she was exposed to different ideas and started questioning her life choices. Was she a failure for not starting a business? Society's yardstick can be misleading.
Success isn’t one-size-fits-all.
Success is about internal peace and satisfaction. My friend, an exceptional coder, questioned my choice to start a family young. He travels, parties, and questions my choices, but I’m content. I made my decisions based on my values, and I don’t regret them.
We all have a hierarchy of values that drives our decisions. For me, work and family are at the top. For my coder friend, it's different.
Success is about aligning your life with your values, not someone else’s idea of what your life should be.
Success isn't a universal standard; it’s a personal journey. Define it by your own terms, aligned with your values and what brings you peace. Don't let societal pressures dictate your path.
