FROM MY WORLD

A Risky Lesson From The Fast Lane...

Let me tell you about a moment that hit me like a ton of bricks—courtesy of Tom Cruise in the movie Days of Thunder.

Now, I know what you’re thinking: "Igor, you're watching Days of Thunder in 2024?!"

Yes, I am, because nostalgia.

Plus, it was one of those rare nights when Anastasia and I could actually enjoy a movie uninterrupted. (If you’ve got kids, you know how rare those are!)

Anyway, there’s this scene. Cole Trickle—played by a young, cocky Tom Cruise—is gearing up for the Daytona 500. He’s beat up, exhausted, and, honestly, one crash away from a career-ending disaster.

Nicole Kidman, playing his love interest, pleads with him to take it easy, to be careful.

And you know what he says?

“I’m more afraid of being a nobody than getting hurt.”

Boom. Right in the gut.

That line is a mantra for anyone who’s ever dared to step into the entrepreneurial arena. We don’t quit because the stakes are high—we keep going because the stakes are high.

Think about it.

Why did you start your business? Was it just for the money? Or was it because deep down, the idea of living an ordinary, forgettable life scared the hell out of you?

I get it. Every entrepreneur feels that pull, that need to hit the next milestone, to write the perfect email, to shatter yesterday’s glass ceiling. Whether it’s growing your list, doubling your conversions, or hitting a six-figure month, it’s always about more.

But here’s the thing: you’ll never hear someone on their deathbed say, “I wish I had stayed comfortable.”

Nope. The biggest regret is always not chasing what could’ve been.

So, my challenge to you: next time you’re tempted to "take it easy," think about Cole Trickle. Think about what you’re more afraid of—temporary pain or permanent mediocrity.

As for me, I’m choosing the fast lane. What about you?

MINDSET MAKEOVER

Thick Skin, Grit, and Fortress-Level Stability

Let’s be real—entrepreneurship isn’t all champagne and six-figure launches.

It’s a grind. Refund demands, account shutdowns, stolen traffic—these are the barbarians at the gate, and they’re coming for your business.

The question is: how will you respond?

Most people crumble at the first sign of adversity.

They see a Facebook ad account suspension or a flood of refund requests and think, “Maybe this isn’t for me.” But the truth is, the road to success is paved with these exact challenges. They’re not roadblocks—they’re tests.

The entrepreneurs who make it big aren’t the ones who avoid problems; they’re the ones who push through, time and time again.

But grit isn’t enough—you also need stability. I like to think of my life and business as a fortress, with strong “walls” that can withstand anything. Those walls are built from financial stability, reputation, and personal skills.

Here’s why:

Products can fail. Ads can be shut down. Markets can crash.

But your skills? Your reputation? Your relationships? Those are untouchable.

Building a fortress isn’t quick or easy, but it’s the only way to secure long-term success. It’s about playing the long game, so when the barbarians show up, you’ll still be standing.

So, the next time your business hits a wall, ask yourself:
Am I going to let this stop me, or will I push through while strengthening my foundation?

Winners always choose the second option.
