FROM MY WORLD

The Antidote To Mediocrity

Let me hit you with a tough pill to swallow: most people suck at what they do.

Now, before you think I'm just being harsh, let me explain.

I constantly get asked, “What’s the average conversion for this offer?” or “What’s the typical result for that campaign?”

And every time, I cringe.

Why? Because these are the wrong questions to ask.

People are obsessed with tendencies—what most people achieve. But here’s the truth: tendency is not destiny.

I learned this the hard way in my own life.

Recently, I went through a hell of a rough patch with some back pain.

Sitting behind a computer for years took its toll, and I found myself at a chiropractor’s office, surrounded by people who looked like their bodies were falling apart.

They were doing exercises, struggling to move.

I thought to myself, “Is this my future? Am I going to end up like this, six months in and still not making any progress?”

Then, my chiropractor gave me a dose of reality. “You’re not them,” he said.

“Their situation is different—one was in a car accident, another was in a wheelchair. You’ll progress faster because you’re doing the right things.”

It hit me like a truck. Just because most people have poor outcomes doesn’t mean I will. Tendency doesn’t determine your destiny.

The same goes for marketing, list building, or any other endeavor. The average marketer fails. They struggle, they give up, they half-ass it.

But guess what? You don’t have to be average. Most people fail not because the system is broken, but because they don’t apply themselves with the intensity it takes to win.

They let doubt creep in, and they give in to the same tired excuses.

I see it every day. People jump into list building, throw some half-baked effort into paid traffic, and then whine when they don’t get results.

They say, “It doesn’t work.” No, YOU didn’t work. You didn’t bring the heat. You didn’t dive in headfirst like your life depended on it.

Just like those folks at the chiropractor who show up to socialize rather than sweat, they’re expecting results without putting in the grind. They mistake tendencies for destiny.

But here’s the kicker—you’re not them. You can be the outlier, the one who actually wins.

While most people are screwing around, dabbling, and blaming everyone but themselves, you can be the one making serious progress. Don’t let anyone—especially your own doubts—convince you otherwise.

LESSONS FROM LEGENDS

The Bezos Lesson of Customer Obsession

Jeff Bezos didn’t just build a company—he built a trillion-dollar empire by obsessing over one thing: the customer

While other businesses focused on beating the competition, Bezos zeroed in on serving his audience. His relentless commitment to customer satisfaction didn’t just help Amazon succeed—it revolutionized e-commerce and created a blueprint for how modern businesses operate.

Bezos flipped the traditional business model on its head.

Instead of trying to outdo rivals, he prioritized what customers wanted and delivered it at an unmatched level of convenience, speed, and reliability.

His famous mantra, “Start with the customer and work backwards,” is a lesson for every entrepreneur. It’s not about competing on price or features—it’s about creating an experience so good that your customers don’t even think of going elsewhere.

The real lesson here? Build trust first, and profits will follow

When you’re obsessed with serving your audience better than anyone else, success becomes inevitable.

Customers come back not just for your product, but for the experience you create

For Bezos, profits were never the main goal—they were the side effect of putting the customer first, every single time.

So, how obsessed are you with your audience? If you’re ready to take your business to the next level, start by rethinking how you serve your customers. Make their experience unforgettable, and the success will come.

MINDSET MAKEOVER

The Information Trap

You know the feeling. You're knee-deep in courses, books, and podcasts, all telling you how to succeed. Everywhere you look, there’s another guru promising to spill the one secret to making millions, the one hack to transform your life. It’s almost laughable.

Here’s the cold, hard truth: there is no "one thing."

The question I hear most is, “What’s the one book I should read?” or “What’s the one tactic I need to apply?”

But the reality? You need to do everything.

You’ve got to read all the books, study all the tactics, and most importantly—take action

Waiting for that magic bullet to arrive is the fastest way to stay stuck.

Now, I get it—there’s an overwhelming flood of information out there. We're bombarded with expert opinions, all claiming to hold the key.

But most of it is just noise.

We’re in the age of misinformation overload, where you spend more time chasing shortcuts than actually doing the work. You become a professional information consumer, not a producer of results.

The worst part? You don't even realize it's happening.

The real shift comes when you let go of that need for "the one thing" and start embracing the grind

Success isn’t glamorous, and it sure as hell doesn’t come from the latest 10-step hack or viral trend. It comes from consistently showing up, even when it feels like you're moving in slow motion.

The ones who make it aren’t the smartest or the luckiest—they’re the ones who do everything necessary and filter out the nonsense.

They take action, tweak, fail, and keep going.

So stop obsessing over the shortcut that doesn’t exist. Focus on taking action. Apply what you know, stay consistent, and the results will come.

This book isn’t just for entrepreneurs—it’s a playbook for anyone who wants to create something that lasts. Ries flips the traditional "build it and they will come" approach on its head by teaching you to build, measure, and learn.

Instead of wasting time (and money) on massive launches, you learn to create minimum viable products (MVPs), test them quickly, and pivot when needed. Ries’s method is all about validating your ideas with real data before going all in.

This approach has transformed startups, but the principles apply to any business or side hustle. It’s about making smart moves fast and adapting based on customer feedback—something that directly impacts your bottom line.

The Lean Startup is a must-read for anyone serious about success in today’s fast-paced, unpredictable world.
