I Had to Beg for My Job Back

Here’s something I don’t talk about enough: I failedbadly. I had to go back to my boss and beg for my job after walking out with the high hopes of making it big online.

Let me take you back to the start.

I was in Israel, working in housekeeping, scrubbing toilets at a Dead Sea hotel for a living. 

One day, I finally hit what I thought was my big break—a $500 affiliate commission! 

Now, $500 might not sound like much, but back then, in my world, it was real money. It was my first sign that the “magic internet” could actually pay off.

So, naturally, I did what any overexcited newbie would do—I quit my job on the spot, feeling like I had finally “made it.” 

But the dream didn’t last long. I tried everything to grow my business—social media, paid ads, spamming content everywhere—and nothing worked. I threw everything at the wall, hoping something would stick, but the internet gods weren’t on my side.

I had no choice but to go back, swallow my pride, and ask for my job back. It was humiliating. But that moment didn’t break me—it hardened my resolve.

Here’s what I learned from that brutal experience: success is not about doing a million things at once. It’s about doing the right things in the right order.

I didn’t give up. Instead, I found a mentor—someone who had already done what I wanted to do. I borrowed money from the bank, even from my grandmother, to pay for his coaching. 

And you know what? It was the best decision I ever made.

This mentor showed me a secret weapon: list building. Instead of throwing my energy into random traffic strategies, I focused on growing my email list. 

That’s when everything changed. 

I went from scraping by to adding hundreds of subscribers to my list daily. And not just that—I almost broke even just from promoting affiliate products to those new subscribers.

But here’s the real game-changer: once I started selling my own products to my list, it was like unlocking a whole new level. And you don’t even need to create everything from scratch—I didn’t.

What started as a scrappy attempt to make $500 online turned into a full-blown system that made me thousands—all because I was willing to focus on building and nurturing my email list.

Here’s the harsh truth: the comfort of a steady paycheck is one of the biggest lies we tell ourselves. 

You think you’re secure, but you’re not. You can be replaced in a heartbeat. And that’s just one of the many problems with the traditional workplace model.

Think about it—no matter how good you are, no matter how much value you bring, you’ll always be limited by the system. You’ll still need to play by someone else’s rules, someone else’s schedule, and someone else’s idea of what you’re worth. 

Meanwhile, you’re stuck doing the same tasks day in and day out, with no real freedom or control over your future.

That’s the painful reality of the 9-to-5 grind. It’s designed to keep you dependent. 

You’re rewarded just enough to stick around, but never enough to truly get ahead. Even if you snag that promotion or salary bump, it’s still not your business. 

Your boss still determines your worth, and your time is still spent building someone else’s dream, not yours.

But when you break away from that system—when you build something of your own—everything changes. 

Suddenly, you’re the one in control. You decide how much you work, how much you earn, and who you work with. You can walk away from clients or situations that drain you because, at the end of the day, you’re the one calling the shots.

Of course, this path isn’t for everyone. 

But even if you think your 9-to-5 is “safe,” it’s really just an illusion of security. You could be let go tomorrow, or your role could become redundant overnight. The only real security comes from building something where you’re in control.

So why do so many people cling to their jobs? It’s because it feels easier than stepping into the unknown. But here’s the truth—that sense of comfort is actually costing you more than you realize. It’s costing you your freedom, your potential, and your ability to live life on your terms.
