FROM MY WORLD
Confessions of a Cotton Candy Marketere
Let me let you in on a secret most marketers don’t talk about—ugly emails make money.
Yep, you read that right. The polished, corporate-looking emails with perfect stock photos of smiling support agents? Toss them.
Let me explain.
When I write emails, I treat them less like cold updates and more like personal memos. Authenticity isn’t just a buzzword here—it’s a conversion machine.
A while back, I sent an email about freedom. It was inspired by my own journey of picking up my life and moving to Bulgaria. To make it hit home, I attached personal pictures. Not professional shots—just raw, everyday moments.
One photo showed my kids eating cotton candy in a park. Another was of a random street scene from a family outing.
And you know what? Those photos connected. They made the email feel human. Relatable. Real.
People crave that. Authenticity slaps harder than any glossy image of a stranger laughing at a salad.
Now, that doesn’t mean I’m against getting creative.
One time, I had a brilliant idea while promoting a program that helped people make money with Amazon. I hopped into ChatGPT and said, “Make me a picture of someone riding the Amazon gravy train.”
The result? A guy sitting on a toy train with dollar bills spilling out of its carts. A little ridiculous? Sure. But it made my point unforgettable.
Here’s the kicker: It wasn’t about looking slick—it was about standing out and being authentic.
We live in a time when tools like Canva or AI image generators make it easier than ever to create visuals. But don’t lose sight of what works: being you.
Share your raw, real life. Use images that make your audience say, “This person gets it. This person is like me.”
Because the truth is, your audience isn’t buying into perfection. They’re buying into you.

MINDSET MAKEOVER
How to Stay Hungry When the Results Aren’t Feeding You Yet
Let’s get real: Slow growth is the ultimate test of your commitment.
You’re putting in the work—tweaking your emails, testing headlines, and building your list—but the results?
They’re... underwhelming. Crickets, even.
Been there. Done that. And trust me, I’ve thought about throwing in the towel more times than I care to admit. But here’s the truth: the slow grind is where champions are made.
So, how do you stay motivated when the finish line feels like it’s in another time zone? Let me break it down for you.
1. Remember Your "Why" (And Make It Huge)
Your "why" isn’t just a warm, fuzzy feeling—it’s your fuel. Why are you building this list? Is it for financial freedom? To take that dream trip to Bali? Or maybe to show the doubters in your life that you’re not just another 9-to-5 drone?
Make your reason so powerful that quitting feels impossible. For me, it was about more than money—it was about being there for my family without sacrificing income. Once I tied my "why" to something bigger, the grind didn’t feel so heavy.
2. Focus on Systems, Not Just Outcomes
Obsess over the process, not just the prize.
You can’t force your list to grow overnight, but you can control how many emails you write, how much testing you do, and how many offers you tweak.
Success isn’t just about the scoreboard; it’s about showing up every day and executing the plays. So make your systems bulletproof and let the results take care of themselves.
3. Celebrate Small Wins
Growth is like watching a pot boil. It’s maddeningly slow—until it’s not.
To keep your sanity intact, celebrate every small win.
Got 10 new subscribers? That’s 10 people closer to your goal.
Hit your first $100 in sales? That’s proof your system works.
Momentum is built brick by brick. Don’t discount the foundation.
4. Learn, Adjust, Repeat
If something’s not working, don’t take it personally—just tweak it. Marketing isn’t magic; it’s experimentation.
Did an email flop? Test a new angle.
Traffic source not converting? Try another.
Every tweak is progress, even if it feels like failure. The real failure is refusing to adapt.
5. Visualize Your Success Daily
This one’s underrated but powerful.
Every morning, spend a few minutes visualizing your endgame. Picture the growing list, the overflowing Stripe account, the freedom to work on your terms.
Your brain is a magnet for what you focus on. Focus on winning.
Here’s the bottom line: Slow phases aren’t the enemy—they’re your training ground. The habits you build while you’re grinding will carry you when the big wins start rolling in.
Stay obsessed with the outcome, but love the grind. That’s how you go from frustrated dreamer to unstoppable winner.
