How I (Continue To) Smash My Income Ceilings

Many people work hard to get that first win in their business, but once they achieve it, they often don't know what to do next. They don't know how to turn that “win" to a “winning streak” and never break through to higher levels. So, what makes the difference? Is it mindset, strategy, or something else?

Mindset is crucial. What gets you to your first $10k won’t get you to $20k or $50k. 

You have to reinvent yourself, let go of some things, and embrace new ideas. Being agile and not getting too attached to certain methods or concepts is key.

From a practical standpoint, building a list was critical for me. Continuously growing that asset and learning to communicate with my list frequently made all the difference. 

Initially, I wasn’t making any offers to my audience. I signed up for numerous affiliate programs but was afraid to pitch. I hoped people would find my content and click on a buy link somewhere. That approach didn’t work. 

Now, every email I send includes a link to something. Always.

Creating my own offers was another game-changer. I developed a low-ticket offer that allowed me to start building a buyer's list. Having buyers on your list can instantly double your income because they are higher quality subscribers.

When I hit multiple five figures, to reach six figures in a month, I had to expand my product lineup. I added high-ticket products, both my own and others that paid high commissions. 

This made a tremendous difference because it takes just as much effort to sell a higher-priced product as it does a lower-priced one. Many people don’t believe this until they try it themselves. The effort is the same, but the payoff is much higher.

Think about it: to make $5k a month, you need 100 transactions at $50 each or just 10 transactions at $500 each. 

Which do you think is easier? Finding 10 people willing to pay $500 can often be much easier than finding 100 people to pay $50. This realization can transform your approach and your income.

So, if you've just had your first win and feel stuck there, remember that the income plateau is not the end, but a new beginning. It's a call to evolve, to step into your full potential as an entrepreneur.

So don't be discouraged. Instead, focus on the next logical thing to do: building and engaging your list, creating valuable offers, and exploring higher-priced products.

The path to higher income is simpler than you might think—if you’re willing to evolve and leverage your efforts effectively.

12-Hour Shifts, Drunken Fights and and My Broken Daewoo Revelation

In 2009, I spent my days cleaning hotel rooms. My shift started at 6:30 am and lasted until 7 pm, with a 40-minute bus commute each way.

Bone-tired, I'd try to squeeze in work on my business in the after hours. At 21 or 22, I was drained, physically and mentally. The last thing I wanted to do after a 12-hour shift was anything productive. 

My dad, laid off two months prior, had abandoned his job search and spent his days glued to the TV, watching soccer, snooker, and tennis. 

Our financial situation was grim, and it only got worse.

One night, I was getting a cup of tea when my dad, drunk on vodka, cornered me. He hated my online marketing efforts, thinking they were a waste of time. 

We argued about it, as we often did. 

Fed up, I grabbed the keys to our crappy 1999 Daewoo Nubira and drove off to clear my head.

Driving helped me think. But that night, I found something in the glove compartment that shook me to my core: my dad had taken out a loan to cover another loan. We were sinking deeper into debt. I realized we were on the brink of losing everything. 

That moment, sitting in that terrible car, was my turning point.

I knew then that no obstacle could stop me. I had to succeed, not just for me, but for my family. 

My dad wasn't the enemy—poverty was. 

I had to overcome my fears: fear of failing, fear of not being good enough, fear of losing money. That realization transformed my mindset. The alternative to overcoming these fears was too dire to consider.

Everyone needs a defining moment, that moment where everything changes. If you haven't found yours yet, seek it out or create it. My drive and determination were born from that rock-bottom moment. What drives you?
