Fifteen years ago, I took a leap of faith.
I fired my boss and dived headfirst into online marketing. Yet, to this day, I still find it tough to explain to people what I do.
I mean, how do you explain to someone at a networking event that you’re an internet marketer without sounding like you dabble in voodoo magic?
Recently, I attended a rooftop networking event in Toronto. It was a great setting—good food, nice people. The crowd was mostly service providers like real estate agents and tax advisers.
When asked what I do, I said, “I’m an internet marketer.” Immediately, people assumed I wanted to market their products.
But I shocked them by saying, “I’m not looking for clients. I’m my own client.”
They were baffled. “What do you mean you’re your own client?” they asked.
I explained that my skill set allows me to get targeted eyeballs to websites and convert them into subscribers and customers. So, instead of marketing for others, I promote myself, build my own company, and enjoy multiple streams of income.
The lack of marketing expertise in the offline world is astonishing, but it's a curse and a blessing.
Many businesses are still stuck in the past, relying on old-fashioned methods. I see potential everywhere, waiting for someone with marketing knowledge to tap into it.
The funny thing is, marketing keeps the world turning.
Without it, the economy would collapse. Yet, so many people struggle with it, holding onto a fear of spending money.
The truth is, those who understand marketing hold the keys to the kingdom. They can create demand out of thin air, build empires from scratch, and turn everyday products into household names.
And that’s exactly what I do.
I leverage the power of the internet to create wealth, not just for myself, but for anyone willing to learn and apply these strategies.

For me, finding my 'why' was a game-changer. I remember when I first got into online marketing. I was drawn by the allure of financial freedom and the flexibility to work from anywhere. But my real 'why' became clear after my daughter was born. I wanted to create a life where I could be there for her, provide for her, and show her that with passion and determination, anything is possible.
Think about what inspired you to dive into the world of online marketing in the first place. Was it the desire to escape the 9-to-5 grind, to have more time with family, or perhaps the passion to share your knowledge with the world? Your 'why' is unique to you, and it’s the most powerful motivator you have.
Finding your 'why' gives you clarity and direction. It helps you stay focused on what truly matters, especially when distractions and challenges arise. It’s the difference between working for the sake of working and working with passion and purpose.
Reflect on what drives you, what impact you want to make, and what your core values are. For me, it was about creating freedom not just for myself but for my family as well. It was about making a difference and leaving a lasting legacy for my kids.
Once you find your 'why', keep it at the forefront of everything you do. Let it shape your goals, your strategies, and your daily actions.
