FROM MY WORLD
My Dad, the New Car, and A Marketing Lesson
Let me tell you a story. Once my dad’s car broke down. Instead of fixing it—which would’ve cost just a couple hundred bucks—he decided to buy a new one.
And not just any car, but a brand-new, shiny one that he couldn’t really afford.
He went all in, took out a loan that stretched his budget to the max, and drove off in his new ride, feeling pretty good about it.
But the very next day, reality hit. The costs started piling up—insurance, maintenance, and a bunch of other expenses he hadn’t considered.
Suddenly, he was back at my door, asking for money to cover the bills he hadn’t planned for.
Now, why did he do it? He’s a smart guy, an engineer by trade, fully capable of crunching numbers and making logical decisions.
But this choice wasn’t logical—it was emotional.
The car breaking down triggered something deeper, a desire to upgrade, to feel good, to solve a problem with a flashy new solution, even if it didn’t make financial sense.
This is exactly how most of us make decisions, especially when it comes to buying.
We think we’re being rational, weighing the pros and cons, but in reality, our emotional brain is running the show.
We decide based on feelings—like fear, excitement, or insecurity—and then use logic to justify those decisions after the fact.
This insight is crucial for anyone serious about marketing. If you’re only focusing on the logical benefits of your product—how it’s the best value, the most efficient, the smartest choice—you’re missing the point.
To truly connect with your audience and drive action, you need to tap into their emotions.
Understand their fears, their desires, what keeps them up at night. Speak to those feelings, and you’ll not only get their attention, but you’ll also move them to act.
So next time you craft a marketing message, remember my dad and his new car.
Logic didn’t get him to the dealership—emotion did. And if you want to drive your prospects to take action, emotion is the key.

LESSONS FROM LEGENDS
Barnum's Buzz-Building Brilliance
P.T. Barnum didn’t just wait for the crowds to come to him—he made sure the crowds couldn’t escape him. Barnum understood that to fill the seats, he needed to create a buzz so loud and pervasive that it was impossible to ignore.
Imagine walking down a 19th-century street: the noise of horses clopping on cobblestones, vendors shouting out their wares, and there, dominating every corner, are posters announcing the latest spectacle from Barnum.
But Barnum didn’t stop at posters.
He was relentless. He orchestrated parades through the heart of the city, complete with marching bands, colorful banners, and, of course, his star attractions.
These weren’t just advertisements; they were events in themselves.
Barnum knew that people are drawn to excitement, and he made sure that excitement was everywhere they looked. Even the newspapers couldn’t resist covering the spectacle.
By the time his shows opened, the entire town was buzzing with anticipation, and everyone was clamoring to get in.This relentless, in-your-face promotion ensured that Barnum’s name was on everyone’s lips.
He didn’t just sell tickets; he sold an experience, a must-see event that people felt they couldn’t miss.
Barnum’s strategy of bringing the hype to the people is a lesson in omnipresence.
In today’s terms, it’s about being everywhere your audience is—on social media, in their inboxes, on their feeds.
Don’t wait for them to find you; make sure you’re impossible to miss. Create a buzz that people can’t help but talk about, and you’ll find your audience coming to you in droves.
MINDSET MAKEOVER
The 30/30 Mindset Challenge
Struggling to get ahead despite your best efforts? Here’s the hard truth: success isn’t just about the right strategies or tactics. It’s about the way you think. If your mindset isn’t right, even the best plans will fall flat.
That’s where the 30/30 Rule comes into play.
It’s a simple, no-nonsense approach to rewiring your brain for success.
The idea is straightforward: dedicate 30 minutes each day to reading a positive, growth-focused book, and another 30 minutes to listening to uplifting audios.
Do this consistently for 30 days.
There’s one catch—if you skip a day, you start over from the beginning.
This might sound intense, but that’s the point. Real change requires real commitment.
During those first 30 days, you’ll face challenges. You’re probably accustomed to consuming whatever’s in front of you—news, social media, maybe even the negativity of others.
But by sticking to the 30/30 Rule, you’ll start to notice a shift. Your energy will improve, your mindset will become more focused and positive, and eventually, your results will reflect this new way of thinking.
Here’s the bottom line: Your habits determine your success. You won’t transform overnight, but by consistently feeding your mind with positive influences, you’ll reprogram your brain for achievement.
And when your mindset changes, so does your reality.
If you’re serious about changing your life, start by changing your mindset. Give the 30/30 Rule a try.
