FROM MY WORLD
The Surprising Twist That Finally Made Me Money
Ever heard the saying, “You learn more from failure than success?” Well, let me tell you, I got one heck of an education when I first tried my hand at creating digital products.
My first two products? They were absolute flops.
The first one was all about mindset. I called it “How to Get a Six-Figure Mindset in 30 Days”.
It was packed with practical mindset advice that I thought would help people transform their thinking and start making real money. I based it on concepts from one of my favorite books, The Answer by John Assaraf.
If you’ve never read The Answer, I highly recommend it. It’s one of the few mindset books that goes beyond the fluffy, “think positive thoughts” advice and actually connects the dots between mindset and action. It explains how your thinking directly influences your business results—backed by science.
But, despite my enthusiasm and belief in the content, it was a total dud. I sold just two copies.
That’s when I learned a brutal truth:
People who are obsessed with mindset often don’t want to pay for anything. They think everything should manifest magically out of thin air.
They don’t understand that whether it’s a book, a course, or a service, someone else has to put time, effort, and resources into creating it. And unless they’re willing to pay for what they want, they’ll just keep dreaming while others take action.
Product #2: Another $0 Product
My second attempt? An eBook on social media marketing. At the time, I’d had some success with Twitter and figured I’d share what I knew.
I slapped a price tag of $9 on it and… crickets.
Nobody bought that one either.
So, after two failed attempts, I did what any rational marketer would do… I gave up.
Just kidding. My Breakthrough Came When I Sold Someone Else’s Product
I stumbled upon a done-for-you product created by a big-name affiliate marketer named Andrew Fox.
Andrew had put together an audio interview about affiliate marketing. He was selling Private Label Rights (PLR) to the product, which meant I could rebrand it, change the price, and call it my own.
The whole package was only $50.
It came with a ready-made sales page, email templates, and a slick product cover. But instead of just using what was handed to me, I took a different approach.
I rewrote the sales page in my own voice, redesigned the cover, rewrote the emails, changed the name and set the price at $5 to get volume.
And just like that… It worked. I started selling three copies a day.
The Secret Sauce? Leverage What Already Works!
My first successful product wasn’t even my own. The content? Not mine. The core idea? Not mine. But I understood how to tweak the presentation, position it correctly, and use my own voice to sell it.
So, what’s the lesson here?
If you’re struggling to create a product that sells, don’t obsess over reinventing the wheel. Start by leveraging something that’s already proven, put your own spin on it, and get in the game.
Remember: Success doesn’t come from building everything from scratch. It comes from knowing what to use, what to change, and how to present it.

MINDSET MAKEOVER
How To Overcome the 'It's Not for Me' Mentality
Do you believe you can turn your monthly income into your hourly income?
Most people say they believe it’s possible—but here’s the kicker: they don’t think it’s possible for them.
That’s why so many people jump from one coaching program to the next without ever seeing results.
They’re convinced others can succeed, but they’re secretly jamming on the brakes because of one belief: “It’s not going to happen for me.”
If you don’t believe something is possible for you, you’ll sabotage yourself—even without realizing it. It’s like trying to drive with one foot on the gas and the other on the brake.
So, how do you fix it?
First, dig deep and ask yourself: “Why do I think this isn’t possible for me?”
Explore that answer. What story are you telling yourself? What’s the real belief holding you back?
For me, the turning point was realizing I didn’t have to be born a genius copywriter to make sales.
When I read Dan Kennedy’s Ultimate Sales Letter, I saw copywriting as a repeatable process. A system. That shift made me go from seeing copy as some magical skill to something I could learn, brick by brick.
Suddenly, my belief changed: “If I follow the steps, I’ll get results.” And that’s when everything started falling into place.
So, if you feel like you’re stuck, ask yourself: is it because you don’t see yourself really succeeding?
If yes, you need to rewrite that story—because until you believe it’s possible for you, you’ll keep holding yourself back.
