FROM MY WORLD
I Walked Out—and Never Looked Back
We’ve all had that moment. The one where your boss says something so out of line, so arrogant, that you’re two seconds away from losing it.
For me, that moment happened at a small computer store where I was working part-time while hustling on the side, trying to grow my online business.
It was a slow day, and I was with a customer, explaining how to set up a webcam (yeah, back in the days when you actually needed a CD and a driver).
Suddenly, the store phone started ringing off the hook. I ignored it, figuring the customer would appreciate my undivided attention. Then, my personal phone started vibrating non-stop.
At this point, I’m thinking, Did someone die? So I check the screen. It’s my boss, Mickey.
I answer, only to be greeted by a tirade.
Apparently, when Mickey calls, you’re supposed to drop everything—even a customer—and treat his call like it’s a command from the Almighty. He yells at me for not picking up, like I’m some lowly servant. Now, I’ve dealt with enough of this crap in my life—from the army, from strict parents—but this?
This was the moment I’d had enough.
I calmly finished the sale, then called Mickey back and said, “You know what? I quit.”
Now here’s where it gets interesting. Up until that point, I was making about $200–$300 a day from my online business.
It wasn’t steady, but it was enough to give me the confidence to walk out. And sure enough, as soon as I quit, Mickey called me back. But he couldn’t do the one thing that would have kept me—apologize.
He couldn’t just say, “Hey, I had a bad day, I’m sorry.” So, I never went back.
For the next few months, I lived in this weird combination of excitement and terror. I was making more money than at my day job, but the uncertainty of it all scared the hell out of me. Every morning, I’d check my commissions with this gnawing fear—What if today’s the day it stops working? What if I have to crawl back and find another job?
But I pushed through. That fear kept me going. I scaled my business, and soon enough, I hit $500 a day and beyond. And the longer it worked, the more I realized—I’m the one making this happen.
Not luck, not some fluke—just good, hard work.
It took me six months from that moment of walking out to fully replace my income. And every time I look back, I smile. That was the day I stopped living by someone else’s rules and started living by my own.

MINDSET MAKEOVER
Break Free from the Nice Guy Curse
Let me ask you something: How many times have you put your dreams on hold to make someone else happy? Maybe it was a family member who didn't "get" your business goals. Or friends who laughed off your vision because they couldn’t see beyond their 9-to-5 grind.
I’ve been there. For years, I was the "nice guy." The guy who sacrificed his dreams to avoid rocking the boat. You know the type—the one who lets family members dip into his savings for their problems, even when he’s trying to build a business.
But here’s the truth I learned the hard way: Nice guys finish last. And not because the world is out to get them, but because they let the world dictate their actions.
There’s a reason Robert Glover’s book No More Mr. Nice Guy hit me so hard. It’s not just a book about relationships. It’s a roadmap for reclaiming your life—whether that’s in your personal relationships or your business. If you’re constantly trying to keep everyone happy, you’re stuck in neutral. And let me tell you, neutral doesn’t get you anywhere.
I remember when I was saving up for my first laptop. I needed it to run my marketing business while I was hustling between jobs. But right as I hit my savings goal, my parents asked for help with bills. Now, I love my parents—but at that moment, I realized something critical: If I kept bailing out others, I would never get ahead myself.
That was the first time I ever said, "No." It wasn’t easy. I felt like crap.
But looking back? It was the best decision I ever made. I learned that if I didn’t prioritize my dreams, no one else would. You can’t build an empire while apologizing for every boundary you set. Stop playing the nice guy. Start playing the game to win.
The truth is, people won’t always respect your hustle. Some will try to hold you back because your success threatens their mediocrity.
But the moment you stop seeking validation from everyone around you? That’s the moment you get your power back.
And trust me, your bank account will thank you for it.

The Real Reason You Make Bad Choices
Here’s a question for you: Do you ever wonder why we make certain decisions, especially the bad ones? Daniel Kahneman’s “Thinking, Fast and Slow” is the book that breaks it all down. It dives deep into how our brains are wired with two thinking systems—one that’s fast, intuitive, and emotional, and another that’s slow, deliberate, and logical.
Why should you care? Because understanding how you think can be the game-changer in both life and business. This book helps you spot the mental traps we all fall into and shows you how to avoid them. It’s like a cheat code for your brain.
Trust me, after reading this, you’ll never look at decision-making the same way again.
