FROM MY WORLD
When NO Means GO
If you ask me who my biggest motivator to success was, I'd say it was my dad, hands down... but not for the reasons you might think.
He wasn't my cheerleader, oh no.
He was the guy who shook his head and told me to get a "real" job the second I mentioned building a career online.
See, my dad's a military man, old school through and through. He watched me walk away from a stable military career to chase some internet pipe dream.
In his eyes, I was jumping ship for a flimsy raft, and he wasn't afraid to tell me.
At first, his words stung. I'd be lying if I said I didn't resent him sometimes. But as time went on, I realized it wasn't about me.
It was about his own fears and his worldview.
He simply couldn't grasp the potential of the digital world, and that scared him.
But when I finally got my first paycheck, a measly 117 euros, it changed everything. It was “real internet money”. It made the intangible tangible. Suddenly, he became my biggest cheerleader, believing in my potential.
He'd offer me advice, we'd rant together when things got tough, and he'd even help me out with food and groceries when things were tight, because it was a bumpy ride at first.
Now, looking back, I understand. He just wanted what he thought was best for me. He didn't get it, and I don't blame him. Plenty of people still don't.
So, if you've got a naysayer in your corner—a dad, a partner, a friend— here's a question worth pondering: are the naysayers in your life truly holding you back, or are they, in their own way, expressing their concern and love for you?
Sometimes, the people who challenge us the most are the ones who care the deepest.
Could their skepticism be a twisted form of protection, a way to shield you from potential disappointment? Or perhaps, they simply lack the vision to see the world through your eyes? It's a question only you can answer.
LESSONS FROM LEGENDS
The Anti-Boring Email Manifesto
Imagine this: you're sitting across the table from a close friend over coffee. Would you stick to safe, surface-level chatter or delve into the juicy stuff – your honest opinions, even those that might spark a little debate?
The latter, of course. Authentic conversations are the foundation of meaningful connections.
This principle, as legendary copywriter Jon Benson insists, isn't just for your personal life – it's the secret sauce for magnetic marketing.
So, the next time you're writing an email or an article, don't be afraid to infuse your emails and articles with your unique voice and perspective. Share a controversial take on your industry or a personal story that resonates with your product.
Not everyone will agree with you, and that's okay. The people who do will be the ones who truly connect with your brand.
Invite your audience into the conversation, spark their curiosity, and encourage them to share their thoughts.
A simple way to do this is by asking a question at the end of your email. Something like, "What's your take on this? Am I on the right track or totally off base?". It's a small change that can turn a one-sided message into a meaningful conversation.
Remember, when your emails are filled with your authentic voice, they do more than just fill an inbox – they spark real engagement and keep people coming back for more.
So, I'm curious, what's your take on this? Am I on the right track or totally off base? Let me know!

MINDSET MAKEOVER
How To “KonMari” Your Way Out Of The 9-5
It seems like the world has a collective obsession with "more"—more features, more products, more services— the smart business owner knows that often times, less is truly more.
Instead of piling more onto your plate, consider the power of subtraction.
Cut the fluff. Ditch the time-wasters, the dead-end projects, the ideas that look good on paper but don't deliver in reality. This isn't about being lazy, it's about being smart.
Think of it like spring cleaning for your business. Toss out the junk, organize what's left, and suddenly, you've got space to breathe, to think, to actually get things done.
When you stop trying to do everything, you can zero in on what really matters. You can put all your energy into the things that move the needle, the things that actually make an impact.
Remember, every "yes" to something new is also a "no" to something else.
So, take a good hard look at your business. What's holding you back? What's just adding to the noise? Cut it loose. You'll be surprised how much better you feel, how much clearer your vision becomes.
You're not missing out. You’re subtracting strategically.
