FROM MY WORLD
The Reality of The Gig Economy
For the very first time in history, well-educated people are facing the same financial challenges as those with less education.
And it’s this: Your degree, your experience, your fancy resume? They don’t matter to your bank account. At least, not in the way you think.
I see it all the time—people with 20 or 30 years in a career, now tossed aside for being “too old” for corporate America. Why hire senior talent when you can get an intern for free, right?
If you're younger, it's the opposite—fresh out of college, drowning in student debt, driving Uber or jumping between odd jobs just to survive.
Here’s the cold truth: your checking account doesn’t care about your diploma. It cares about cash flow. And cash flow comes from value, not a piece of paper on the wall.
Robert Kiyosaki touched on this in his book, Rich Dad, Smart Kid. It doesn’t matter how well-educated you are. If you don’t know how to make money in today’s economy, your degrees mean squat.
And here’s the real kicker: We don’t even live in a “skill” economy anymore. We live in a gig economy. The rules have changed, and if you’re not playing by the new rules, you’re losing.
The old model—go to school, get a degree, get a stable job, retire comfortably—has been tossed out the window.
You can spend four years getting a degree in data science, only to find out you’re just one of thousands in line for the same job at some bank.
But if you acquire an in-demand skill that not many people have—and I’m not talking about welding or plumbing—you’ll find yourself in a completely different game. A game where you don’t need a boss or even a job.
Let’s get this straight: People will pay you to solve their problems. And not just a few people. Millions of people are willing to hand over money if you can help them out of a jam.
I’ve worked with retirees who thought they’d be able to kick back and relax but found out the hard way that their pensions or savings weren’t enough.
They’re flocking to online marketing because it’s their only shot at sustaining themselves. They need cash flow. And guess what? The cost of living doesn’t go down after you retire. It goes up.
On the flip side, I’ve seen young people fresh out of school who don’t have a clue what they want to do with their lives. They’re stuck in jobs they hate, like accounting, just because it “pays the bills” until they figure things out.
But here’s the thing: you don’t have to wait until you “figure it out.” You can create your own job. Find a problem that people need solving, develop a skill to solve it, and charge for that solution. That’s it.
It’s simple, but most people never ask themselves the right question: How can I provide value in a way that people will pay me for?
Whether you're stuck in a dead-end job or struggling to retire comfortably, the game has changed. Stop waiting for a job. Create one. Offer value, solve problems, and get paid.
It’s not about your degree anymore—it’s about the value you bring to the table.

LESSONS FROM LEGENDS
Dan Kennedy's No B.S. Approach to Making Millions
Dan Kennedy is the godfather of direct response marketing—and if there’s one thing he’s known for, it’s his no-nonsense approach to making millions.
No fluff. No hype. Just raw, effective marketing that gets results.
His philosophy? If you’re not pissing someone off, you’re not marketing hard enough.
Kennedy taught that the best marketing repels the wrong people and pulls the right ones closer. He wasn’t afraid to speak his mind, be controversial, or stand firm on his values.
And that’s exactly why his campaigns were so powerful.
Dan’s biggest lesson: clarity over cleverness. Your message should be as simple as a punch to the gut, delivered directly to your ideal customer, and impossible to ignore.
Forget trying to be liked by everyone. Focus on polarizing your audience so the people who resonate with you will run through fire to buy from you.
One of his most iconic tactics was the irresistible offer—not just a discount or freebie, but a value-packed offer that makes your audience feel like they’d be crazy to say no.
Kennedy didn’t believe in soft selling. He believed in hitting hard with an offer so good, it’s a no-brainer.
If you’re playing it safe in your marketing—watering down your message, trying to please everyone—you’re missing the point.
Take a page from Kennedy’s playbook: sharpen your message, polarize your audience, and make them an offer they can’t refuse. That’s how you go from average to unstoppable.
MINDSET MAKEOVER
Fear Is a Liar
When I hosted my first-ever List Building Lifestyle Marketing Workshop, it was a wild ride.
We taught people how to write emails that convert like crazy and shared some cutting-edge inboxing strategies to make sure those emails actually land in the inbox, not the spam folder.
I’m not here to sell you the event (though the recordings might be available, and they’re worth every penny).
What I really want to share are the mistakes I made—and the lesson I learned that you can apply to every big, scary project you’re avoiding right now.
Hosting this event freaked me out.
Not because I didn’t know what I was doing, but because it seemed like this massive, complicated beast with way too many moving parts.
I was terrified of screwing it up. And guess what? I did screw up in a few areas. But here’s the thing: once the event was over, that fear disappeared.
Why? Because when you finally do something scary, you see the journey from start to finish.
When you’re standing on the outside, everything looks more complicated than it really is. But once you take that first leap and go through the process, you realize it’s just a series of steps, like anything else.
Fear is nothing more than a lack of clarity.
When you don’t know the path, your mind fills in the blanks with worst-case scenarios. But once you’re in the thick of it, you see it’s just another project.
I’ll be honest, I made plenty of mistakes—like hosting the event in Toronto, where a lot of Americans couldn’t attend thanks to some teenage misdemeanors that Canada never forgets!
But mistakes don’t matter. What matters is taking action in spite of fear.
Doing something “good enough” beats doing nothing at all.
I’ll take a solid, imperfect workshop over sitting on the sidelines any day. I’ll take a half-baked sales funnel over no funnel.
I’ll take an email list that’s “meh” over no list.
Progress beats perfection, every time. Stop waiting to feel ready—you won’t.
Take the first step anyway. Do the scary thing, even if you have no idea what the next 99 steps look like.
Trust me, when you get to the end, you’ll wonder why you were ever afraid in the first place.
