FROM MY WORLD

Selling Products? I Bet You $20 That You’re Doing It Wrong

The other day, I noticed something on my Facebook feed that stopped me dead in my tracks.

Ads. But not just any ads—ads from people I knew didn’t run businesses.

People with full-time jobs, juggling side gigs, who probably don't even realize what they’re doing. They’re competing for the same ad space as seasoned marketers, yet they have zero understanding of how to advertise effectively.

Now don’t get me wrong—I love the fact that the internet has made it so easy for anyone with a brain and a keyboard to run a Facebook ad.

The barriers are down, and that’s amazing for entrepreneurs like us. The playing field is leveled.

But here's the kicker: most of these folks are making the same mistake—they’re selling products, not ideas.

I see it time and time again.

People hammering out solutions. Trying to convince the world that their thing is bigger, better, faster. And honestly? It’s turning their message into noise.

Just another Facebook ad selling a face cream that promises to fix acne in three seconds or less. You’ve seen those, right?

What happens is simple: the brain tunes it out.

Automatically. We’re all bombarded with 6,000–10,000 ads a day. The brain has to make sense of the chaos somehow, so it filters out all the "same old" stuff. If you’re selling products, you’re just more noise in the storm.

You’re dust in the wind (cue the Scorpions reference).

So, how do you cut through that noise?

You sell ideas.

When you lead with an idea, you step into your prospect's world. You speak their language. You're not just another ad—you’re an idea worth listening to.

And once you’ve got their attention, then and only then do you casually mention your product. Like, “Oh, by the way, here’s what I’m offering, if you’re into that.”

Take Eugene Schwartz, one of the greatest copywriters to ever live. He knew this decades ago—you don’t sell products, you sell big ideas. You need to find that one killer idea behind your product and ride that idea all the way to success.

Here’s an example: I recently launched a new product through my traffic agency, and it was based on one major idea—the market is so saturated right now that ad costs are through the roof.

So, if you want to get cheaper, better leads, you have to take a different path. That’s the big idea. It’s not about the product.

It’s about the problem and the solution the idea presents.

When you sell ideas, your business becomes different. You’re not just another solution. You’re someone who gets it. You’re someone the prospect can trust.

So, if you’ve been struggling with ads or feel like your list isn’t responding to your emails—it’s time to rethink what you’re really selling. Because if all you're doing is pushing products, you're just part of the background noise. But if you can sell ideas, well, that’s when people start to listen.

Now, go out there and stop selling your product. Sell your idea. And watch how quickly you stand out.

MINDSET MAKEOVER

Think Like a Multi-Millionaire

Have you ever noticed that people who make it big seem to think differently? I mean, the really successful ones, the ones pulling in millions, don’t just have better tactics—they have better mindsets.

And here’s the kicker: nobody—and I mean nobody—gets to the top without hitting walls along the way.

They face doubt. They face failures. They’re constantly battling their own demons. But you know what separates the ones who make it from the ones who don’t?

They don’t quit.

In fact, the most successful people take those challenges and use them as stepping stones. They see obstacles, not as reasons to quit, but as opportunities to grow and push themselves to the next level.

Now, you might be thinking, “Well, that’s great and all, but how do I start thinking like that?

It starts with one simple shift: believe in your success before you see it.

Let me repeat that—you’ve got to believe in your ability to succeed before any evidence shows up. Successful people act like they’re already at the top, even when they’re at rock bottom. It’s not some fluffy self-help theory; it’s the core of what it takes to build long-term success.

Most people quit way too early. They hit their first roadblock and think, "Well, this isn't for me."

But the real winners keep pushing. They know that every hurdle is just the universe asking, "Are you ready for the next level?"

Now, if you’re struggling, doubting yourself, or wondering when your big break will happen, here’s your action plan: start focusing on your strengths

Do what you’re already good at to build momentum. Once you’ve got some small wins under your belt, you’ll start building the confidence to tackle the bigger stuff.

At the same time, dive deep into personal growth.

Read books. Listen to podcasts. Heck, search YouTube for any top success coach like Tony Robbins. The information is right there, and it’s free!

There’s literally no excuse to not work on yourself.

Remember, long-term success comes from having the right mindset before the money shows up. If you don’t fix your mind, no amount of success will stick around.

So, what’s it going to be? Will you keep focusing on the obstacles, or will you start thinking like the millionaire you’re destined to become?
