Let's talk joint ventures (JVs), a.k.a. the fastest way to level up in the online business world.

Most people think "joint venture" sounds like some Wall Street contract—complex, official, and definitely not for them. 

But in reality? JVs are simply two people with complementary products or audiences helping each other out. Like a trade. 

You scratch my back, I scratch yours, and we both walk away with extra cash in our pockets. 

Sound simple? That’s because it is. But simplicity doesn’t mean JVs lack power. In fact, JVs can be one of the most powerful (and underestimated) tools in your business arsenal.

Finding a great JV partner is like finding a soulmate. You don’t just bump into JV partners on every corner or swipe right for a quick partnership. No, no. You need to be where they are. And that’s where mastermind groups come into play.

Imagine being in a room with people just like you, with businesses that complement yours. Suddenly, collaborations just happen. And if you’re smart, you can turn these masterminds into JV gold mines.

I've spent years jetting off to high-priced masterminds, paying for travel, shelling out $30,000 a year (yep, you read that right) just to be in the right rooms. Don’t get me wrong—I’ll gladly do it, but that price tag and the travel grind? Far from glamorous. 

And I kept thinking…there’s got to be a better way to connect with serious players without the jet lag and financial pain.

Stop Waiting, Start Failing (Yes, Really)

Here’s a hard truth: the biggest thing holding you back isn’t lack of skill, knowledge, or even resources—it’s waiting. 

Waiting until you’re ready, waiting until you’re an “expert,” waiting for some magic moment when the stars align. 

But that moment? It’s a myth. If you want to see real growth, the best thing you can do is fail faster.

You see, every “failure” is really a data point, a little piece of intel telling you what works and what doesn’t. I’m talking about taking messy, imperfect action—doing the thing, even if it feels way out of your league. 

Too many people spend months, even years, just learning without doing. They watch webinars, take courses, binge podcasts…but never try. And it’s only through trying, screwing up, and trying again that the real lessons come.

A big part of failing faster is cutting out the busywork that doesn’t move the needle. For example, in my early days, I spent months on “free” traffic strategies, hustling to build an audience without spending a dime. 

It sounds smart, right? Free traffic, no cost, just grind? 

But here’s the twist: all that time trying to score free leads was keeping me broke. Those leads weren’t engaged, they weren’t buying, and I was stuck with a list full of people who couldn’t care less.

Looking back, I can see that what I really needed was to get into the paid game. Because paid traffic? That’s where intent lives. Those are the people ready to hear what you have to say. 

Waiting for “free” leads was just wasting time, keeping me in a cycle of zero results, low engagement, and frustration.

The mindset shift here is simple but powerful: fail your way to the top. 

Every setback is setting you up for something bigger. When you launch something that flops, that’s your chance to recalibrate and adjust. You’re not starting over; you’re starting smarter. 

Success isn’t about avoiding failure—it’s about stacking those failures as steps to reach the next level.

So if you’re hesitating, here’s your wake-up call: stop waiting. Launch that page, start that ad, send that email. And if it fails? Perfect. 

That’s your next lesson in disguise. Because the only way to truly lose is by standing still.
