FROM MY WORLD
Times Square, a Racist Remark, and a Simple Marketing Trick
A while back, my wife and I found ourselves as wide-eyed tourists in the electric chaos of Times Square. The sensory overload was off the charts—flashing lights, giant billboards, and a sea of faces rushing by.
Our stomachs were growling, and we were on a mission to hit Stardust Diner for a musical feast.
Then, in the middle of all the flyer-waving madness, this guy shouts, "Hey you, white guy! Are you allergic to black people?"
Talk about a head-scratcher. It was such an absurd question, that my brain couldn't help but hit the brakes.
And that's when it hit me – questions engage the brain in a way that statements can't.
The brain cannot ignore a question.
They grab your attention and demand a response.
It's a marketing lesson I've taken to heart, thanks to Frank Kern and his Mass Control wisdom: the brain can't ignore a well-placed question.
Questions are powerful in any marketing, not just emails. People naturally want to answer questions, it's like a built-in need they just gotta satisfy.
But here's the kicker: the better your questions are for your target audience, the better the people you attract.
It's like fishing - you need the right lure for the right fish.
Figure out what your target audience worries about and what they secretly want. Craft questions that talk directly to their inner thoughts.
Instead of asking, "Want to boost your income?" try, "Does your job pay the bills but leave your soul feeling empty?" That kind of question hits home, sparking a connection that goes beyond a simple transaction.
So when you are in a crowded market, how do you make your voice heard? How do you rise above the noise, grab attention, and attract ideal clients who are practically chomping at the bit to work with you? The answer is simple: ask killer questions.
LESSONS FROM LEGENDS
Redefining Retirement
Tim Ferriss, the guy behind "The 4-Hour Workweek," is what I like to call a modern-day lifestyle designer. One of Tim's most intriguing ideas is the "mini-retirement."
Basically, the idea of mini-retirement is that instead of waiting until you're 65 to finally enjoy life, take intentional breaks throughout your career.
Instead of the typical two-week vacation, Ferriss advocates for taking months-long breaks to travel, learn new skills, or simply unplug and recharge. Tim has even taken mini-retirements to learn tango in Argentina and become a champion kickboxer!
Now, you might be thinking, "Sounds great, but I have bills to pay!" And that's where Ferriss's approach gets interesting.
We're not suggesting you quit your job and live off the grid. Instead, you need to work on strategies for automating your income, delegating tasks, and optimizing your work so you can create more freedom in your life.
Personally, I've been inspired by Ferriss's approach. I've taken extended breaks to travel, focus on personal projects, and simply spend more time with my family.
The mini-retirements I’ve taken have been some of the most fulfilling and rejuvenating experiences of my life.
So, whether you're dreaming of backpacking through Southeast Asia or simply want to spend more time on your hobbies, consider taking a page from Tim Ferriss's playbook. Who knows? You might just discover that life is meant to be lived, not just worked through.

MINDSET MAKEOVER
The Myth of the "Either/Or" Life
I remember one summer morning in Israel sometime in the early 2010s. We were gathered in a friend's backyard having a barbecue, the kind where everyone wears flip-flops and burgers are always a little overcooked.
The conversation drifted to the usual topics: work, family, dreams. Someone casually mentioned wishing they made more money, and my friend Demetri, ever the contrarian, chimed in with a smirk: "Well, I'd rather be healthy."
I rolled my eyes, unable to resist a playful challenge. "Why not both? Why do you have to choose between being wealthy and being healthy?"
Demetri raised an eyebrow : "Oh, come on. We all know you can't have it all."
I couldn't disagree more.
In fact, that's exactly the kind of mindset mistake that holds people back.
People often think they have to choose, but that's a result of their conditioning and upbringing.
Why can't you be both? Why can't you have money and health? Money and happiness? Money and freedom?
You don't have to choose between being rich and having a fulfilling personal life.
Take my situation. I work from home, so when my kids come home from school, I'm there. My daughter often builds her Lego sets right next to me. When she needs help, I can stop what I'm doing and be there for her.
That's what I mean when I say you can and should strive to have everything that defines success for you.
Success means different things to different people.
For some, it might mean being a multimillionaire with multiple romantic partners. For others, it might mean making a lot of money but having a stable family life. Both definitions are valid.
For me, success includes having a family, and I've built my life around my own success standards without compromising on them.
So, why settle? Define what success truly means to you and go after it full throttle. You can absolutely have it all.
