The School System Is Broken—Here's My Plan to Fix It

I have a dream.

Not the “I want a yacht and a private island” kind of dream (although... that wouldn’t hurt).

No, I’m talking about something bigger—a passion project that keeps me up at night.

I want to build a school.

Not just any school, though. A school that actually prepares kids for life. A school where students don’t just memorize the dates of ancient wars—they learn how to win their own battles in the real world.

Let me explain...

As a father of a 10-year-old daughter, I’ve had a front-row seat to the disaster we call modern education.

First, she was in the Israeli school system. Then the Canadian one. Then private school.

And you know what? None of them taught her anything useful.

So when COVID hit, I said, “Enough!”

I pulled her out of school, rolled up my sleeves, and built my own curriculum. No more pointless history lectures. No more worksheets about parallelograms.

Instead, I taught her coding fundamentals through games.

Within months, she was creating apps, designing AI systems, and building games like the ones I used to play on Sega.

Her latest app? It uses her laptop’s webcam to analyze karate stances and tells you if you’re doing them wrong—or right.

Now, let me ask you this: What were you learning at 10 years old? Long division? The parts of a cell?

Look, I’m not saying every kid needs to become a coder. But they DO need to learn how to think critically, manage money, communicate effectively, and build things. Instead, the school system churns out kids who can recite the periodic table but can’t balance a checkbook.

No lessons about credit scores. No lessons about sales. No lessons about investing.

Just enough to keep them obedient, dependent, and stuck in the hamster wheel.

Call me dramatic, but it feels like we’re living in The Matrix—a world designed to create cogs in the machine instead of independent thinkers.

That’s why I’m determined to build this school—whether it’s physical, virtual, or both.

Because I don’t want my kids—or anyone’s kids—walking into adulthood clueless about how the world really works.

And hey, while we’re on the topic of dreams...

Here’s one I already turned into reality.

I got my Canadian passport, and I’ve since moved to Bulgaria.

But my dream of watching Manchester United play every week? Still on the list.

For now, though, my focus is on the school project—because the next generation deserves better than what the system is giving them.

What a Russian Thug Taught Me About Motivation

Did you ever have someone cuss you out and somehow leave you feeling inspired? Yeah, me too.

I was listening to this Russian guy on Telegram the other day. He’s one of those no-nonsense, in-your-face types—calls it like he sees it.

And honestly? I think we all need a little more of that in our lives.

The guy was talking about enthusiasm—what it is, how to get it, and why most people lose it faster than a New Year’s resolution.

He broke it down like this: The word “enthusiasm” comes from a Greek word that means possessed by a god.

Basically, it’s about being so full of energy and purpose that you feel unstoppable.

And the best part? You don’t need to wait for Zeus to strike you with lightning. You can create enthusiasm anytime you want.

Here’s how:

1. Your Environment Either Fuels You or Drains You.

Look around. Are you surrounded by people who light you up—or people who drag you down?

Because here’s the truth: You can’t be enthusiastic about your goals if your environment feels like a funeral.

That’s why I still go to masterminds and seminars.

I make it a point to contaminate my mindset (in the best way possible) by hanging out with people who are smarter, richer, and more driven than me. It’s like catching a bug—except this one makes you richer instead of sicker.

2. Clarity Creates Energy.

Have you ever felt stuck because you didn’t know what you wanted? I have.

Sometimes it takes me weeks to figure it out. But the moment I get clear on my goal—I mean laser-focused, no-BS clear—something flips inside me.

Suddenly, I’m working like a madman. No procrastination. No distractions. Just pure focus.

That’s exactly what happened when I moved to Bulgaria.

I didn’t sit there overthinking it.

I asked myself:

“If someone put a gun to my head and said I could only care about ONE thing, what would it be?”

The answer hit me like a freight train: the safety and future of my kids.

And just like that, I had my why. I booked tickets. I toured schools. I met with real estate agents.

I didn’t need motivation. I had momentum.

3. Tie Your Goals to What Matters Most.

This part is key. If you want unstoppable enthusiasm, tie your goal to something you’d die for.

For me, it’s my kids. For you, it might be your family, your legacy, or proving your doubters wrong. But once you find that emotional connection, you won’t need anyone to push you. You’ll push yourself—and love every second of it.

So here’s my challenge to you: If someone put a gun to your head and told you to pick three things to care about—what would they be?

Now, take your side hustle goal and tie it to one of those three things.

Then watch what happens. I guarantee your enthusiasm—and your results—will skyrocket.
