FROM MY WORLD

Why I Gave Away My Million-Dollar Strategies (and What Happened Next)

I grew up believing that sharing your success, especially when it came to money, was a dangerous move.

In our family, we didn’t talk about how much we made, what we were building, or even how we got there.

The fear was real: if people knew, bad things could happen. Either someone would show up asking for a piece of your pie, or they’d figure out your strategy and compete against you.

It was all about keeping a low profile.

Even as I started building my own business, that mentality stuck.

Whenever I found a new tactic that worked—be it a better way to structure a sales funnel, a killer copywriting formula, or a traffic source that converted like crazy—I’d hold on to it like a state secret.

Because deep down, I thought that if I shared my best ideas, I’d lose my edge.

And I know I’m not alone in this. For a long time, I thought business was a zero-sum game: if I made money, someone else didn’t. If I won, someone else had to lose.

But one day, I realized something: I wasn’t playing the same game anymore.

The world had changed. Thanks to the internet, we’re living in an age of unlimited opportunities. And while I was still operating out of scarcity, the rest of the world was moving on without me.

I started noticing how others—guys like Tony Robbins, Bob Proctor, and even internet marketing legends—were openly sharing everything they knew.

And guess what? They weren’t getting poorer for it.

They were getting richer.

It took a while for me to really internalize this, but once I did, I decided to put it to the test.

I stood up in front of a live audience and spilled my guts, sharing my best strategies for building a seven-figure solo ads agency. I didn’t hold back. I broke down everything from lead generation to sales techniques—stuff I’d normally keep behind lock and key.

The result? Nothing.

Nobody in the room ran out and started a competing agency. Nobody took my ideas and tried to steal my clients.

Instead, I got a round of applause, a bunch of “Great job, Igor!” comments, and not a single one of them did anything with what I shared.

That’s when it hit me.

Giving away your best stuff doesn’t diminish your success—it amplifies it.

People don’t just remember what you shared. They remember you. They trust you more, want to follow you, and ultimately end up wanting to do business with you, not against you.

The fear that someone’s going to take your edge? It’s all in your head.

The truth is, 99% of people won’t do anything with the information you give them anyway. And the 1% who will? They’ll probably become your biggest fans or partners.

So, I flipped the script.

I went from hoarding my best strategies to sharing them openly, even for free. And what happened?

My influence grew. People started seeing me as a genuine leader, not just a guy trying to protect his secrets.

My network expanded. And yes, the money followed.

Turns out, sharing your success is the ultimate leverage.

These days, I’m more concerned with giving as much value as I can. The more I give, the more opportunities come back around—sometimes in ways I never expected.

So, if you’re still clutching your best stuff, afraid to put it out there, let me give you a hard truth: You’re not protecting yourself—you’re holding yourself back.

Let it go. Share it. And watch as it multiplies right back to you in ways you never imagined.

MINDSET MAKEOVER

I Made $20,000 While Playing Call of Duty

Let me take you back to New Year’s Eve 2022.

No, I wasn’t at some glitzy party. No champagne. No fancy suits. Instead, I was right where I wanted to be—at home, in my cozy little bubble.

We had a low-key night watching Home Alone with the kids. After that, it was family time, opening presents, and just soaking up the moment.

Sounds like a typical family evening, right?

Except… there’s one small twist.

While I was there, hanging out with my kids and playing Call of Duty on my gaming rig for a good five hours, my business quietly raked in $20,000 in revenue.

Twenty grand!

And I didn’t lift a finger for it.

That’s when it hit me: I was finally experiencing the true definition of passive income.

For the longest time, I’d talk about passive income, but if I’m honest, I didn’t fully believe it myself.

I was preaching it, teaching it—but deep down, I was still caught in that old-school hustle mindset, thinking I had to be working non-stop to keep the wheels turning.

But that night, it all came together.

I realized that the more leverage I build into my business, the less I actually need to do. And it’s a strange feeling—because, for years, I was the guy pushing hard, grinding at every corner, believing that time spent working was the only real way to create value.

But here’s where the story gets even better.

With all that newfound mental bandwidth and extra time, I decided to do something different.

I channeled my creativity into a passion project—making a comic book series for my daughter. The first story had her saving all the town’s birds from a gang of evil villains. Then there was another where she took down a zombie-fueled Oreo cookie monster (long story short, Oreos are evil because of all the sugar—just ask my daughter).

And when I saw her reaction? When I saw how much joy it brought her? That was the real reward.

I even ended up making a few more of these comics. One where she and her little brother are in a full-on sibling battle over the iPad, and things escalate until the family has to come together and make peace.

Who knew I’d be writing comic book plots for fun?

But that’s what happens when your business no longer chains you to your desk.

Looking back, this shift in mindset didn’t just happen overnight.

It took years to shake off the old habits. And I’m not perfect—some days, I still feel the itch to jump back into full-on work mode. But these days, I try to remind myself of what really matters. It’s not the Porsche in my driveway (though, I’ll admit, that car is still a blast to drive). It’s not the money (although that’s nice too).

It’s moments like those.

Time with my kids. Being able to create something that makes them proud. And realizing I can finally be the dad who’s present—not the one who’s always buried in work.

Because years from now, I want them to remember more than just a guy who made money. I want them to remember the dad who showed up for the things that counted.

So, if you’re still grinding 24/7 because you think you have to, let me be the first to tell you: You don’t.

Build the leverage. Free up your time. And don’t just dream of passive income—live it.

CURATED READS

Not all that glitters is gold

Social media’s turned the “get rich” dream into a twisted reality show, and “Get Rich or Lie Trying" by Symeon Brown pulls back the curtain on how deep the deception goes.

Brown doesn’t just talk about influencers flashing luxury cars and wads of cash. He digs into the darker side of the digital hustle—where fake success is sold as a lifestyle and where desperation drives people to do whatever it takes to look wealthy, even if it means going broke in the process.

This book is packed with eye-opening stories about wannabe entrepreneurs, so-called “financial gurus,” and social media stars who build their fame on empty promises, shady deals, and manipulation. It’s a brutal reminder that in today’s world, chasing the spotlight can be a trap—and not all that glitters is gold.

If you’re serious about building real wealth and want to see beyond the Instagram illusion, this book is a reality check that’ll keep you grounded.
