FROM MY WORLD
The Coaching Niche Goldmine
Let me tell you a little story that might just be the golden ticket for starting a successful coaching or service business.
I’ve got this friend—she’s a therapist, or maybe a psychiatrist…honestly, I’m not exactly sure what she does. But anyway, she works for this company that feeds her clients, and she’s been asking me how she can break free and go solo, become self-employed, right?
So, last time we met up, she’s like, “Hey, can you build me a website so people can hire me directly?”
You know what I told her? “Let’s zoom out for a sec.”
Here’s the deal: she thought the thing she needed was a website. But the website isn’t the magic pill—the real question is… Who are your clients?
Are you helping stay-at-home moms who feel trapped because they put everyone else’s needs before their own? Maybe you’re working with burned-out entrepreneurs who can’t sleep because they’re too busy chasing money, but feeling totally empty. Or maybe it's a 22-year-old kid paralyzed with anxiety about adulting.
And she was like, “Well, all of them!”
That’s when I hit her with the tough love: “No, that’s not how this works. You can’t be everything to everyone.”
Even if I’ve got experience that could help any business under the sun (yes, even SpaceX), I’m not going around selling myself as a Swiss Army knife for all problems.
Here’s the hard truth: people want specialists. If someone’s email funnel is broken, they want an email funnel expert. If they need marriage counseling, they want a marriage specialist—not someone who’s dabbling in 10 different things.
You gotta niche down. And this stumped her because, guess what, she couldn’t decide who she actually wanted to help.
So, I told her: once you figure out your market—whether it’s overworked couples who feel like roommates or business owners who can’t get their employees to care—then we can build your landing page.
And that page will speak directly to the pain points of your chosen niche. It will make them think, “Wow, she gets me.”
So, don’t be a jack-of-all-trades. Find your market, the people you know you can help, who actually want help, and are willing to pay for it.
And trust me, trying to sell a generic 8-week coaching program to business owners on how to "manage employees" won’t cut it.
But an offer where you say, “Hey, I’ll handle your employees while you’re sipping cocktails in Cabo,” that will sell.
Recognize the market, solve the right problem in the right way, and you’re golden.

LESSONS FROM LEGENDS
The Ugly First Draft
You might think that legendary copywriters like Gary Halbert—one of the most brilliant and brutally honest minds in the world of marketing—could craft perfect sales letters in one go.
But guess what? Halbert was all about the ugly first draft.
One of Halbert's most famous mantras was: "The first draft is never about perfection. It's about getting words on the page."
This flies in the face of what most people do when they start writing—they agonize over every word, every sentence, trying to create something polished from the start.
But Halbert knew better. He understood that perfection is the enemy of progress. If you spend all your time overthinking the first sentence, you’ll never write the second.
So, he encouraged writing a first draft that’s a mess. It can be ugly, disjointed, and clunky, but it’s something to work with—and that’s where the real magic happens.
In fact, Halbert’s ugly first drafts often turned into multi-million-dollar sales letters, because the real gold came in the rewriting and refining.
He was a master at chiseling a rough stone into a diamond, but the key was starting with that rough stone in the first place.
The lesson here is simple: Get it down, then get it right.
Whether it’s a sales letter, a business plan, or even just a social media post—don’t let the fear of imperfection stop you from making progress. Let the words flow, and remember: even the legends start with something ugly before it becomes legendary.
MINDSET MAKEOVER
Unplug Your Inner Alpha
In today’s world, there’s no shortage of advice on how men should behave, what they should prioritize, and why they need to soften their edges.
But here’s the truth: the world doesn’t need more men playing small—it needs men who step up, lead, and take charge of their lives.
And this applies to both your personal life and your business.
The same mindset that drives alpha men is the one that drives top entrepreneurs.
Whether you’re building a list, launching a new product, or scaling your business, the principles are the same: lead yourself first, don’t wait for permission, and carve your own path.
Just like in life, business success comes from knowing your worth, staying true to your core mission, and refusing to let outside opinions dictate your direction.
When I work with clients or when I’m building my own offers, I don’t waste time trying to please everyone. I know my strengths. I know what works.
And that’s exactly what you need to do. Whether you’re running a service-based business or growing your email list—stay focused, stay true to your vision, and never let the world’s noise pull you off course.
Just like the alpha mindset demands that you never make someone else the center of your universe, you can’t let shiny distractions derail your business goals.
You need to build from a place of strength and confidence, knowing exactly what you bring to the table and charging forward, even when the world’s telling you to play it safe.
Take charge of your business the way you take charge of your life. Unplug from the noise and lead with authority.
